In view of the recent incidents in Jerusalem that were reported by the media, we would like to clarify a few points:
  • The conference is taking place in the western part of the city, which has not had any security problems.
  • The reported incidents took place in the eastern neighborhoods of Jerusalem and the Muslim quarter of the old city. We advise against housing at those parts of the city.
  • We have consulted with the official security authorities in Jerusalem, and they have assured us as to the safety of the YMCA area and all the hotels in the western part of the city.
