The International Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science will hold its 70th Annual General Meeting on November 4-7, 2018.

In its 70 years of existence, the State of Israel has grown and bloomed, and today it prospers. Seven decades ago, with few allies, almost no natural resources, and surrounded by antagonistic neighbors, its future was uncertain. Today, Israel is a technological and intellectual powerhouse, a world leader in many industries such as cyber-security and cancer research. It moves swiftly from strength to strength.

The Weizmann Institute of Science has grown and developed in tandem, serving as an incubator for many scientific discoveries and technologies that have helped transform Israeli society – and humanity as a whole. From drug discovery to alternative energy, and from neuroscience to materials of the future, our scientists’ quest to better understand human health and the universe have contributed greatly to Israel’s reputation as a leader in discovery and innovation.

This November, we invite you to join us in a four-day celebration of breakthroughs in science. We will recognize our friends from around the world, whose support has facilitated the success of the Institute and its scientists – and indirectly also the success of the State of Israel. We will learn about innovative research; introduce our newly recruited scientists; dedicate new institutes, centers, and chairs; confer the Doctor of Philosophy honoris causa degrees, the Institute’s highest honor; and much more.

We hope you will join us and we look forward to seeing you here in Rehovot.
