This symposium celebrates Joel Sussman’s 80th birthday. As its title implies, it will present a panoramic perspective of structural biology, from its earliest days, when Joel was a graduate student, and data collection, computation and computer graphics were in their infancy, to the present, when structures are swiftly obtained at synchrotrons or by cryo-EM, and, most recently, are solved by powerful computer algorithms. The synaptic enzyme, acetylcholinesterase, perhaps Joel’s favorite structure, will not be neglected.
Registration will be open soon
