We will leave the Weizmann Institute at 8am after breakfast and head north to Haifa, the third largest city in Israel, perched on the top on Mt. Carmel and home to the Famous Baha'i gardens and shrine.
We will visit the top terrace at the Baha'i gardens, learn more about this religion and how it came to be and why it is connected to Haifa and Akko. We will enjoy the beautiful view over the gardens, the Temple and the bay of Haifa. Depending on time, we will also visit Stella Maris (Star of the Sea), where the Carmelite order built a monastery dedicated to Elijah the prophet. We will also enjoy its fabulous view of the Mediterranean looking both north and west.
From there we will continue to Akko, where will visit the famous Halls of the knights, walk the authentic small market, see sites built during the Turkish period and walk the hidden tunnel dug by the crusaders and discovered by chance in the late 90's.
We will end our visit with a late lunch at the famous fish and seafood restaurant of the chef Uri Yarmias, located in the old city of Acre overlooking the Mediterranean.
